Late nite. - 7-8-2000 Well, I can't say that today has been the greatest day. It started out fine, but somewhere, something happened. The wife and I both got up about 8:30 or so and she proceded to feed the baby as I went in and turned on cartoons. Typical Saturday. 4-year-old got up aroun 9:30-10:00 and sat and watched Pokémon. Around 10:30 or 11:00, something caught up with me and I started dozing off in the chair. The wife was on the phone and stopped her conversation to tell me to go to bed. So, I went back in and lay down for a "nap". I remember her teling me that she was going to take her sister to the mall and asked me if I wanted to go. I wasn't too attentive and just shook my head no. She took the kids and left and I rolled over and went back to sleep. I slept on and off, never really coming fully awake, until I finally decided I've been in bed long enough. As I stumble into the living room, I realize it's about 3:45. Damn, I must have been out. Well, the wife still wasn't back so I heated up a leftover burrito and sat down to watch TV. At about 4:45, I decided to try and catch a movie at the 18 cinema theater near our house. Between 5 and 6 is "Twilight" hour and the movies are about ˝ price. Well, just as I'm writing my note to leave for her, she pulls up with the kids. Six hours later. I don't give her the 3rd degree or anything, I just wonder where she's been. Seems they went to the mall for a bit, then went to K-mart so she could find a new bathing suit. After that, they went to a Popeye's and got chicken. Well, I didn't want to sit around the house anymore and I told her I had been planning to go to a movie. She said to go ahead. I went and saw "Gone In 60 Seconds". Excellent movie! I had seen the original and this is 10 times better. I loved it. Can't wait for it to come out on DVD. Well, the movie didn't start until 5:55 and I had left the house at 5:15. The movie ran about 2 to 2˝ hours so it was about 8:00 or so when it was over. After the movie, I zipped to a local music store to see if they had anything good. Just basically killing time. About 8:35, I head to Hollywood Video. I spent about 20 minutes or so wandering around. If I go to a video store without a specific movie in mind, it takes me a while to decide on stuff. Tonight was one of those nights. I ended up getting "Plunkett & McCleane" on video tape, and "The Green Mile" and "The Bone Collector" on DVD. I was ready to go back home. Or so I thought. Soon as I get in the door, around 9:00, the wife starts asking "What took you so long?" I told her I went to the movie. "But you left here at 5:00, almost 4 hours ago." I then explained that the movie didn't start until 5:55, and that afterwards I went to Uncle Sam's and then got videos. I don't know what was up her ass or what I said, but after that, I got the silent treatment. Her body langage just screamed "pissed off", but when I asked her what was wrong, "Nothing, I'm just tired." She ended up going to bed about 9:15, for a bit, but 4-year-old was still up so I told him at 9:30 that it was bedtime and he wanted her to put him in bed. Well, after that, she came back into the living room and got on the computer for about 20 minutes, then went back into the bedroom. This shit pisses me off. She leaves and is gone for over SIX HOURS and when she finally gets back, all I ask her is "Where'd you guys go?" I knew they were going to the mall, but I doubt even the most steadfast shopper can spend six hours in a mall. Pompano Square is just NOT that big. Did she call me and say "We're going to K-mart and then going to Popeye's, do you want anything?" Nope. Not a word. Well, I leave to go to the movie. It's pretty common knowledge that most movies nowadays are at least 2 hours long. So, that takes care of 5:00-7:00, assuming the movie started at 5:00, and since I didn't leave until after 5:00, it's safe to assume it didn't. If you know me, you know how I like my movies and I usually try to get there about 30 minutes before show time. I like the previews, see. Anyway. I just don't feel that I deserve the treatment I've gotten. I wasn't gone as long as she was. And you know what's funny. I actually thought about calling her from the theater, but I didn't. Stupid me, eh? Guess now she won't be lettin' me off the leash for a while. Well, I'm going to go and watch "The Green Mile". I've read all the books and this is supposed to be a good movie. I'd rather she was well and sound asleep when I mosey in to go to bed. I don't want to have to answer a bunch of questions. To be honest, I have the feeling that she thinks one of 2 things. I met some woman (even though she knows it's not true, she can't help but think it), or that instead of going to a movie, I went to my office, got online and went to some porn sites. It all boils down to the fact that she doesn't trust me. Well, yip-fuckin'-pee. Oh, by the way. How did you all like my little story about my ex? I swear that every bit of it is true. It was a bit of a catarsis to get that out in the open. Of course, it reavealed some more stuff about me. Hope no one's perception of me was skewed or altered because of it. I really am a nice guy and a big softy. Oh well. I'm gonna stop for now. I'll try to update again tomorrow. Till then "Where are we going and why am I in this handbasket?"
