In-Laws, Outlaws and It's been hectic.
"I am whatever you say I am..."

Well I'm back updating again. Yay. Jumping on the in-law's computer while I can to try and catch you all up.

I've been a bit worried the past few days. As you may have read in a past entry, the wife and I are partial subjects of an article on blogging in a publication called City Link Magazine and one day a few weeks ago, a photographer came and took some pics of us for the piece. He came one day right after I got off work to take the pictures. I was still in my "uniform" and didn't really think anything about it. Then last, week, I mentioned it to a co-worker and was told that it was a big no-no. If the BCP&R logo was visible in the pic and someone pointed it out to my boss, I could get fired since I didn't get the County's permission to wear it. So, I had to try to get a hold of the people working on the article and have them edit it out. The article came out yesterday and, luckily, the pic is ok. They edited the one on my t-shirt out completely, and the one on my hat is not distinguishable so...whew.

I was a bit disappointed in the piece, however. It kind of portrayed me as this close-minded, rednecky hatemonger. I just kind of came across as a bit of a dick. Who knows, maybe I am. The author quoted stuff from my diary pages, but without reading the entire entry, people may get the wrong idea. I just hope that people who read the article come here and read a few entries to really get a good look into what I'm saying instead of just reading an excerpt taken out of context. Oh well, if I start getting hate mail at least I'll know why.

Things are still not looking too good right now. We sent our taxes in yesterday but with no money we couldn't make a payment. We're also late for our installment payment so we've just defaulted on that. When we moved into the in-law's house and packed everything into storage, we must have packed away the checkbook without thinking. That's one of the reasons we couldn't send any money with the taxes. Looks like I've got a future of wage garnishments ahead of me. Yippee.

At least the wife's stint in court wasn't too much of a trial (pun intended). We show up at the court at the appointed time and there's no one there. Come to find out, we can go to an express window, pay our fine and leave. Unfortunately, since we just renewed our insurance, we didn't have a current ID card. So we had to leave, get the insurance company to fax us proof of insurance and then go back to the court and wait in line again and pay the fine. After that, though, it's cool. Glad it's over with.

We still haven't found another place to live yet. Haven't been looking too hard because now I'm working nights at the park and have been pretty busy. We're planning on re-applying with one of the finance companies we tried in the past with my parents as co-signers to see if we can get a mortgage this time. The home we want is still available, apparently, so maybe it's a sign. I friggin' hope so. I'm tired of bad luck and getting shit on all the time.

Well, have to go. Took MonkeyBoy to school and now Icebear Jr. is wanting breakfast and everyone else in the house is asleep. I'll try to update when I can here at the in-laws, hopefully with good news. Till then, stay safe, cubbies, and take care of each other. We're all we've got.

Da 'Bear
