Well, the wife says I should update, so I am. Been meaning to do it for a long time, but either put it off because I didn't feel like it, or I was busy with something else and forgot about it.
Things have been going ok, I guess. We're still really really tight on money, but other than that things are ok. Could be worse, I suppose. Been with TAG for about a month and a half now, and things are sort of getting better. Haven't had a really bad day for quite a while. Kind of got bitched out today because I was on a 52+ minute call and neglected to let my Team Leader know what was going. Of course, he was in a meeting at the time, but I guess I still should have said something.
The job is not really that hard, but it does get really annoying at times. You would be surprised at the amount of stupidity out in the world today. Then again, you might not be. I mean, hell, George W. Bush managed to get himself elected president. I'm just tired of the same call time after time. "My computer ain't workin'." Well, no shit. If it was working, you wouldn't be calling me would you? No, you'd be online searching for porn or trying to buy worthless shit on eBay. But no, your 4 year old Micron, running the original version of Win 98 is not functioning so you've got to call in and bitch to me about it and demand an onsite tech without doing one damn piece of troubleshooting. I'm also tired of the people who call in and demand that we send an onsite tech to check out their computer. I can't count the number of times I've had to explain to someone calling in that I cannot just send a tech out without doing some troubleshooting. But the blame actually lies with the assholes at the Best Buy store. If they'd stop selling the damn Performance Service Plan by handing the person a brochure and saying "If anything goes wrong, just call this number and they'll send someone out to take care of it." Makes me wanna fuckin' choke 'em.
Anyway, applied for a job with Broward County and went in last week and took a test for the position. Very easy test, mainly to see how well you listen to oral directions and how well you retain what you're told. Unfortunately, I won't know the results for 2-3 weeks. Don't know if I can hold out at TAG that long. Luckily, last Sunday, while I was home with a rather painful and embarassing testicle problem, the wife found a listing for the City of Pompano Beach and I applied for it. Deadline was yesterday, actually the 9/30 since I'm still on 10/01 time, so I hope I hear something from them soon. I'd like to hear something by the end of the week. That would be nice. Don't worry, I'll keep you all informed.
On the brighter side, looks like we're much closer to getting our FREE second car. My dad told me a week or so ago that the lady who has it has taken all of the paperwork she has to get a new title in her name to the license bureau so hopefully she can get the new title A.S.A.F.P. and get it signed over to us. That would be really cool. Since the car is basically a "gift" and we're not paying for it, then the state of Florida can't nail us with a big ass tax charge. The last car my parents bought for us, even though they bought it in Missouri, we still had to pay Florida sales tax. That sucked. Cost me over $300 just to get a damn license plate...well, I guess that was for registration as well. Anyway, hope it' cheaper this time.
Been busy on my days off playing ESPN NFL Football. Took a bunch of old games, about 5, into the local GameStop and traded them in for credit towards the game. It's really cool. I love the first-person football mode. Sort of. I really like it when I'm on defense. Since I'm a big Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan, I, of course, play Warren Sapp, and it makes it much easier to get to the quarterback for a sack. Problem is, I have a harder time on offense with it. Throw a lot of interceptions. Right now, I'm playing on Pro level which is the next step up from Rookie. My team is 17-0 and we've just won the divisional playoffs. As Warren Sapp, I've got over 16 sacks, but as Brad Johnson, I've got 13 TD passes and 14 INTs. Not too good. But, I'm having a lot of fun and decking out my Crib with all sorts of Tampa Bay stuff is fun. I find myself, during games, trying to think of what Milestones I haven't broken yet so that I can break them to get more stuff. Unfortunately, the ones I have left are going to be tough to break. Things like, Make a 99 yard touchdown run, Make a 99 yard touchdown pass, etc. Oh well. I'll just keep plugging away at it.
Anyway, it's getting late and I need to go to bed. Gotta take the wife to work tomorrow and need to get my sleep. Sitting here watching Aliens and already having a hard time tearing myself away. You all take care and I'll try to update this thing a bit more often.
