Job...Job...I got a Job!
"I'm the man!"

Well, after bitching and moaning early Friday morning, lo and behold, I up and get a job that afternoon. Ironic, eh?

I have a feeling that the wife was kind of upset at the enthusiasm with which I was searching for a job. Meaning, I would apply to a couple of jobs, then bitch about how I wish I had a job. Then I'd go a couple of days without even looking, then search some more, apply for a couple and bitch again. I think it was kind of wearing on her. So, Friday, while I'm watching the Big Brother houseguests sleep, she's searching the job sites.

A week or so ago, I found a job listing for computer tech support but didn't apply. I thought about it, but didn't. Then the wife finds the same thing and says that she thinks I'd be good at it so I applied online. I figured my 6 years of 'net experience and stuff should help, but never heard from them. Well, Friday, she sees the job listed again so I decided to try and apply again. Problem is, it's listed on a site that I don't have my resume saved on. Last time, I took the time and copied my resume bit by bit into the application, but this time I just really didn't feel like it. So, I faxed it. There was a number there so I faxed it. And damned if I didn't get a call later that afternoon asking if I was still interested in the position.

Things snowballed quickly. I went yesterday to do all of my final application and to take some skill tests and get all of the paperwork taken care of and then I start training tomorrow morning. I'm actually doing something I've done before in the past. I'm technically working for an employment agency for 90 days or 6 months or something, and then I become a full-fledged employee of the company where I'll actually be working. For now, I'm employed by the Pinnacle Employment Group (or something), but I'll be working at The Answer Group doing tech support. After my "probationary" time is up, then I become an employee of The Answer Group full-time. Don't know if I can really get into more about the job than that or not. TAG has a lot of clients that place a lot of restrictions on them and I don't want to lose my job before I've even started.

I'll try to do an entry tomorrow after my first day of training to let you all know how it's going. I just hope I can handle the 12 hour shifts that I'm going to be working after training is over. Oh well. I need this job so I need to do what needs to be done.

Take care.
