Well, another day in paradise. I'm getting real tired of this whole dwelling in self pity thing, and I'm sure you and everyone else I know is as well. It's just that, when I start to get in the mood to do something to get out of it, I just don't have the energy. I've wanted to help the wife with doing a new design for her site, but I just feel completely empty on a creative level. She thinks I'm not in the mood to help her because I just don't want to. The truth is, I do want to help her, I just can't think of anything that's not totally amateurish and stupid. I really like what her friend Dana did for her, I could do the same thing in ImageStyler, but the wife doesn't like how the program cuts up the images and stuff. I don't know how to tell her that that's the only way to make an idea like hers work, other than doing it in flash. Maybe tomorrow I'll try and sit down with the flash book and see if I can make heads or tails of it. Who knows, I might just learn something.

I've finally caved in and am going to apply for unemployment. Luckily, in Florida, you can apply online. Problem is, I don't have all of the information that they require so I've got to wait for some co-workers to fill in the blanks for me. Not sure how much I'll get if I'm approved. As long as it's enough to cover rent and the $500 a month we have to give to the IRS I'll breathe easier. Looks like I'm going to be giving the truck driving company a call to discuss things. If I can still call. I hope they don't think I'm not serious and blow me off or something. I'd also still really like to try the police force, but that's an argument with the wife and her mother that I'm not looking forward to. I bet I could be dispatch. They don't really get shot at too much, I think. Well, maybe the unemployment thing will take some of the pressure off.

The only other really good thing that happened this week was that we went by a new/used book store near the reptile store that the wife loves to go to and I found a bunch of great books. I got 5 books by Lee Child. They're part of the Jack Reacher series of novels and they're really good. I love Sci-Fi and Fantasy, but I also love good mystery and thriller novels. I just finished a book by David Baldacci, The Simple Truth. It was a great mystery/thriller book. It feels really good to be getting back into reading. For a while, I was just glued to the internet or TV and had gotten out of the habit of reading. Now, there are times I'd almost rather read than do anything else. Notice I said almost.

Well, nothing much left to say. I'm either going to go to bed or sit and read for a bit. Since it's past 1 AM then I'd best opt for bed. Take care.
