Parents, Presents and I fuckin' hate the goddamn Post Office.
"I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message..."

Miss me? Hell, you probably wondered if I was ever coming back. Well, here I am. I'm sure you're all just dying to know what's been going on. Good, I'm gonna tell ya.

All in all it was a good week with my parents. We went out to eat a couple of times and they took us all out for the wife's birthday. Roadhouse baby! Although, since it was early in the afternoon, their best cook must not have been in. My steak was good, but they've done better. I thought I was going to get away without my parents nagging at all, but on Thursday morning, we took a quick trip, just me and them, and they double teamed me but good. I was ready to pull the fuckin' car over and kick them out, but it was their rental so, I couldn't. That was it though, just that one time.

They also got us new glasses. I haven't had my eyes checked in about 4-5 years so I really needed it, and they got the wife a new pair for a birthday present. Luckily, my prescription hasn't changed much, but I'm still pretty damn blind. On top of all of that, they also bought us a new car seat for Icebear Jr. The one we had been using was mainly for newborns and infants and he was getting kind of big for it. The one he has now looks like it was made for a baby gorilla...he looks tiny in it, but it's got room for him to grow and it's safe. That's what counts.

Also on the good side, they actually liked our apartment and how we had it situated. That was a shock. I figured that they'd think it was too small or something, but no, they surprised me. They also had no problem with the finches or with Otto. In fact, I think they both kind of dug Otto. He's just cool that way. We ate at their place a few times and they ate at our place one night and we had a really good visit. When it was time for them to leave, I was kind of torn. I was sort of glad they were leaving, but I was also having too much fun while they were here and wanted them to stay longer. Oh well.

I think the wife and I finally have a plan worked out to get this bankruptcy and shit all out of our hair. And soon too, I hope. Because we've found where we want to move to when our lease is up. There's a really nice place called Crystal Pointe at the Lake. I don't want to call it a "gated community" because they usually have guards or something. This place has security gates, but not really any guards. It's very nice though. While there we looked at a 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment, but we're more interested in a 2 bedroom 2 bath townhouse. What we really want is the "Grand Master Plus" 2 bedroom, 2½ bath townhouse. I just hope this bankruptcy stuff doesn't hurt our chances of getting in. That would really suck the nasty wang.

I'm really hating coming into the office now. I want to just work at home full time. Is that so wrong? I mean, I'm gone and no one messages me, calls me, or e-mails me for anything. Then, I come into the office and no one knows I'm here unless I walk right up to them or something. I can get ignored at home, I have a 5-year-old, I don't need to drive 20 minutes for this. Plus, I guarantee I can get more done at home than I can by having to come into the office. Oh well, we'll just have to see. Wish me luck.

The wife sent me some bad news today. She's been getting the run around by the Post Office about a job there for months now. Finally, she gets everything straightened out and all she has to do is wait for a letter telling her to come in for some physical tests, so she waits. And she waits. And she waits some more. Today, she called the guy back who interviewed her 3 months ago and now he says he "has nothing for [her] at this time". What a bunch of fuckin' bullshit! The fuckers. Drag it out and drag it out and drag it out and then change their minds. Fuggin' gubbermint.

But, it's not all bad. She's already gotten herself an interview at another job tomorrow afternoon. She's really pumped about this one and it pays just as well as the post office gig, but is less physical. We both need to get in shape though. Anyway, she's excited about it and I hope she gets it. We could use the extra money as well.

Well, that's about it. I had a few things I wanted to write about that I thought were funny, but I forgot...no I misplaced them mentally, yeah that's it. I'm going to try and sneak out of the office a bit early today. Nothing really to do. I'll catch you all tomorrow. Take care.
