Life, Death, and a short musical interlude.
"You said 'Wet shirt not break',
not 'Piss shirt bend bars'."
What a weekend. After I got back to the office Friday, the reality of what happened while flying kind of hit me and I realized the severity of it all. I kind of just sat here at work in a fog for about 10 minutes and the reality that "I could have died" flashed through my head. Then I settled down and a voice inside my head said, "But you didn't". It was then that I realized that it did me no good to fret about it now so I got over it. At the time it happened, however, life took on a whole new perspective...of about 90° of bank.
The wife and I stayed up late Friday night and then she woke me up early Saturday morning with bad news. One of our female rats was suffering from mycoplasm and ended up dying. I won't go into detail about it, if you want more information, you can find it here. It's hard when you have a pet that dies, but if it dies of old age like my Smokey, then you at least have the comfort of knowing they had a good long life and you have memories to look back on. It's when they die at a very young age, like Sunny that it's really hard on me. She never got a chance to live and have fun. I hate life sometimes.
Well, we lazed around the rest of the weekend, rented a couple of movies and just basically did nothing. We went to the pool yesterday, but the water was fuckin' freezing. Yes, even the 'Bear thought it was rather chilly. Did that keep me from swimming? Hellll no, but it did take most of the fun out of it.
I don't really have much to say today. Yet again, I had a few good ideas, but never thought to put pen to paper to record them and now they're lost to me. I'll probably think of them on the way home, sitting in traffic. I was going to bitch about something, but I think that's gone too. I just basically have no energy. Hmm...oh well.
Oh, I said before that I was going to put pictures of Icebear Jr. in his Halloween costume up here, but I never have. Well, the wife beat me to it so if you want to go see some cute pictures of Icebear Jr. in his costume, swing by here. She also has some funny pics of both kids here. Just to take up some space because I haven't really said shit today, here's a list of current mp3's that have made their way through my Winamp playlist.
Ok, I kind of lied. Some of those are CD's that I've played, not mp3's. I didn't realize it until I looked back at them. Anyway, I play all of them through Winamp so what's the big difference.
I'm outta here. We're going to go get sushi and just chill and hang out and be a family for a while. You all have fun and I'll be back tomorrow with another installment of dribble and boredom. You'll come back for that right? Yeah, I knew you would. Loozers. Heh.
