2:00 PM - 8-23-2000 Ok, kiddies, I'll admit it, I've been a bad 'Bear. Go ahead, take away my porridge. It was too hot anyway. It's been almost 5 days since I've updated. Damn, talk about withdrawals. The reason that I didn't update sooner was because I was too depressed and crushed by not being selected for Diaryland Survivor. Actually, I'M JUST KIDDING. I'm soooo glad that I didn't get picked. I've been reading some of the entries of people who did get picked and that looks like work. Not for me, uh-uh. Anyway, on with the entry.
Thursday night, after I Layeth the Smacketh Down, I flipped over to HBO and watched an Ellen Degeneres special to kill time till 11. I think Ellen is funny when she's telling jokes, but a lot of her special was her rambling along. It was alright, but I'm glad I didn't pay to see it. Then, at 11 came the show I was waiting for. "G-String Divas". Pretty good show. Kind of a 'strippers-eye view' of the "dancing" life. The girl they spent most of the ½ hour with was named Jordan and she had a really nice body. Small chest, though, but that made the wife feel good. "I'm bigger than she is." You sure are honey. After "G-String Divas", a show came on called "The Naked Players" or something. Basically, it's like a candid camera, but some of the people get naked. Like one pretty hot woman was acting like a photographer and was offering to take free pictures of couples. She would introduce herself to them, get them set up and then go behind a curtain and come back out naked to take photos. She'd pose them in "odd" positions and shit. It was kind of funny, but, luckily, it was only a ½ hour. An hour would have been too much. I was going to go to bed then, since it was midnight, but something else caught my interest. The next show on was called "Taxi Cab Confessions". Anyone familiar with HBO knows about this show. Basically, they have a cab set up with like 6, lipstick-sized cameras and a few mics. The cab then picks people up and we see what goes on during their ride. The people are not told of the cameras and shit until after the ride is over. I guess if they don't mind the footage being used, they sign a release, if they do mind, HBO won't show it. I think it's a good idea to tell them afterwards, though, because that way, you don't have people trying to 'act' for the camera or being all shy and nervous. Anyway, this is Episode 7 and the cab is in Las Vegas. The first couple to get in are a very nice looking blonde woman and a somewhat cute blonde guy. They, of course, are husband and wife, but look more like brother and sister. The lady driving the cab starts talking to them about where they just were because they came out of a strip joint, and butters the woman up by telling her that she could probably work at one of those places and make a lot of money. About 2 minutes later, the couple starts just spewing information. Turns out that the woman, who looked kind of 'wholesome and innocent' is actually bisexual, loves women and loves to watch her husband fuck other women. She's even brought women home for them to have sex with. Anyway, I look over at my wife, because she's bisexual and I kind of say, "That sounds like a pretty good life." They love each other, they trust each other, but they share physical pleasure, like sex, with other women. Well, she knew that was coming and was like "Well, I don't really think I can do that, yet." She has gotten better, but it's still a point of contention between us. Now, I'm not trying to get my wife to let me have sex with other women (although that would be cool). What I really want is for my wife to find someone she's comfortable enough with to be intimate with. Aaah, this is all coming out wrong so I'm going to shut up about it. Anyway, the next guy in the cab was an undertaker or coroner or something and he was talking about how he's had to deal with dead bodies that have been in the water for a long time and when you go to pull them out, the skin just comes off their bodies, or you pull appendages right off. Sick shit. He went on to tell about how he's dealt with bodies that have been decapitated and he's had the head on one table and the body on another and had to "re-assemble" them. The cabby asks him if he's had a hard time with women because of this and he said no and was talking about an ex-girlfriend and started describing her. He said she was beautiful, had a great body, nice breasts, and (I shit you not) "more legs than a bucket of chicken". The wife and I just cracked up at that. Have to remember that one for future use. All in all, it was an interesting show, but my bed was calling out to me and I could heed the siren no more. Friday was pretty cool, got paid and we went out to eat. I can't really remember what all we did. Not much. I rented some games and that was about it. Saturday, we both slept in late and then I got up and played video games most of the day. Oh, and all this time, the car that wouldn't start is still at the Winn Dixie where we left it. It's been there a week now. I think I know what the problem is so I hope to have it fixed soon. Anyway, we just lazed Saturday and didn't do much but spend money. We went and got a new CD-ROM drive for our computer because the one that came with it is somewhat fucked, and we also got some more memory for it. We've bumped it up from 32 megs to 94 megs. It was a little pricey, but well worth it. Sunday was more of the same really. Actually, we didn't have the right kind of memory on Saturday, so had to return it and get something else, but didn't get enough (needs 2 chips, not one) so Sunday we got a second chip and everything works fine. I played more video games and we basically blew the whole day off. It felt great to sleep till noon. Monday, I had the wife call me in sick and I stayed in bed. Then I got up and played "Soul Reaver" on the Playstation. It's cool, I've killed all the "boss" vampires and I'm getting ready to face Kain. Problem is, I'm using a game guide and I alread know that I don't kill Kain in the end, so it's set for a sequel. That pisses me off. I go through all that shit to get to him and stuff and I don't even get to kill him. Sometimes sequels are a bitch. Yesterday was a basic shitty day. We had an AVweb staff teleconference yesterday where I've basically been tasked with the wonderful job of re-designing the entire site. It needs it, though, so I'm looking forward to it. Shitty thing is, I haven't felt too creative lately. Not work-wise anyway. By about 3:30, I was sitting here dozing off at my computer like every 2 minutes. I was so glad when 5:00 rolled around. It seemed to take forever. When I got home, I crashed and took about an hour and ½ nap. Got up, cooked supper, and then about 10:00 started playing "Soul Reaver" again. Last night was when I killed off the last "Vampire Lieutenant" Dumah so I'm ready for Kain. Actually had the wife helping me out by reading off stuff from the game guide while I played and shit. Even though it probably bores the hell out of her, I love it when she does shit like that. It's like we're playing the game together instead of her watching me. It makes it more fun. And that brings us to today. Nothing much going on today other than the fact that I didn't want to get up this morning. I'm the only AVweb person left in the office now. Our Sales Director is getting to move out and work from home, so I'm left alone. Wish I could work from home, but for some reason they won't let me. Pisses me off, but I really like my job. Where else can you find a job that will pay for your flying lessons? That's about $4000 right there and they pay me pretty good too. I've got it good, almost too good. But I'm still complaining because I'm an idiot. Hey, no one's perfect. Well, I promise to update more often from now on. I just had a lazy spurt (which seems to have lasted about 24 years) and I'm working on getting over it. I promise I'll have something new for you tomorrow. Hell, I might even do more tonight. I think I have more to say, I just don't want this entry to be 5 miles long. Till tomorrow. "Where are we going and why am I in this handbasket?"
